CarChief® is a vehicle health monitoring system that integrates with your manufacturer's OEM factory service intervals. A small device installed in your vehicle reads your owner's manual, tracks your mileage, and sends you text/email alerts when service is actually due — based on what your manufacturer designed, not what a shop wants to sell. It also notifies our service team so we're ready when you call.
Yes. Every eligible vehicle we sell (2008 and newer) comes with CarChief® already installed and the first year of service included at no extra cost. There's nothing to set up — it starts working the day you drive off the lot.
You can extend coverage for 3 years at $499 or 5 years at $699. Both are one-time payments — no recurring charges, no subscriptions, no hidden fees. Call our service department at (605) 250-7474 to extend.
No — CarChief® is a monitoring and notification service, not a warranty or service plan. It tells you and your dealer what your vehicle needs and when it needs it. The cost of maintenance and repairs is your responsibility, but knowing exactly what's needed means you'll never pay for unnecessary work.
CarChief® sends notifications via text message and/or email. Your dealership also receives the same notification, which may result in a call, text, or email from our service team to help you schedule an appointment.
No. Only you can access your vehicle's location through the CarChief® customer portal. Your dealership does not have access to your location data.
Yes. CarChief® provides around-the-clock vehicle location tracking through your online customer portal at portal.mycarchief.com.
Yes. If you sell or trade your vehicle, you can transfer the CarChief® device to your new vehicle for a $200 transfer fee during your active term.
Yes. There are no limitations on the number of vehicles on a single CarChief® account. You can also add multiple users to your account through the customer portal or by contacting our service department.
Visit portal.mycarchief.com and log in with your credentials. If you don't know your username, contact our service department. If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" option on the login page.
CarChief® is non-cancellable and non-refundable once the device is installed. However, you can transfer it to a new vehicle if you sell or trade your current one.
