Vehicle Shipping

Nationwide Vehicle Shipping to All 48 Lower States

Frankman Motor Company has been coordinating safe, reliable vehicle transport since 1988. Whether you're buying a classic Corvette from our lot or a daily driver for your family, we ship directly to your door anywhere in the contiguous United States. Our transport coordinator, Dustin Frankman, personally handles every shipment to ensure your vehicle arrives safely.

Our Three Priorities When Shipping Your Vehicle

Every transport we arrange is evaluated on three factors — and they're listed in the exact order of importance.

Always #1

Safety First

Safety is always our number one priority — no exceptions. We partner exclusively with licensed, bonded, and insured transporters through Central Dispatch and our vetted network. If we even suspect a carrier isn't legitimate, we turn them away and rebook with a trusted provider. Your vehicle is too important to take chances.

Transparent Cost

We provide an estimated shipping cost upfront before you commit — no hidden fees, no bait-and-switch pricing. Cost depends on distance, vehicle size, transport type, and how quickly you need it delivered. Every transportation case is unique, and we'll give you an honest quote after consulting with our transport partners.

Timely Delivery

Arrangement typically takes about one business week. Once a carrier is assigned, delivery usually takes an additional business week depending on distance. Need it faster? We can arrange expedited transport — just know that faster delivery comes at a higher cost. We will never sacrifice safety for speed.

How Our Shipping Process Works

1

Choose Your Vehicle

Select your car, truck, or SUV from our inventory and finalize the purchase with our sales team.

2

Discuss Delivery

Dustin Frankman coordinates your transport — open or enclosed, standard or expedited — and provides a cost estimate.

3

Activate Your Insurance

Before transport arrives, ensure your auto insurance policy is active on the vehicle. This is critical for FOB delivery.

4

Receive Your Vehicle

Inspect the vehicle at delivery, sign the Bill of Lading, and drive your new purchase home.

Understanding FOB (Free On Board) Delivery

All vehicles purchased from Frankman Motor Company are delivered FOB Origin. FOB — Free On Board — is a shipping term that defines the exact moment ownership and responsibility for the vehicle transfers from us to you. Here's what that means in practice:

The moment we hand the keys to the transport driver, the vehicle is considered officially delivered. The transport driver is not an agent or employee of Frankman Motor Company. At that point, ownership and liability transfer to you, the buyer. Frankman Motor Company's insurance coverage on that vehicle stops at the moment of handoff.

Critical: You must have your auto insurance active on the vehicle before the transporter picks it up. From the moment the keys are handed to the carrier, Frankman Motor Company's coverage ends. If anything happens in transit — road damage, weather, an accident — your personal auto insurance policy is what protects you. Do not wait until delivery day. Call your insurance agent and add the vehicle to your policy before transport begins.

What Affects the Cost of Vehicle Shipping?

Every transport is different. Here are the key factors that influence your shipping quote:

Factor How It Affects Cost
Distance & Region Longer distances cost more. Remote or rural locations (e.g., a ranch in rural Texas) may cost more than a metro drop-off in Dallas, even if the mileage is similar.
Vehicle Size & Weight Larger and heavier vehicles — trucks, SUVs, classic cars — require more space on the carrier and cost more to ship than compact sedans.
Open vs. Enclosed Transport Open transport is our standard and most cost-effective option. Enclosed transport provides additional protection for classic, luxury, or high-value vehicles and costs more.
Speed of Delivery Standard transport is the most affordable. Expedited or rush delivery is available but comes at a premium. We will never sacrifice safety to meet a deadline.
Seasonal Demand Transport rates can fluctuate during peak seasons (summer months, snowbird season) when carrier demand is high.

Why Trust Frankman Motor Company with Your Shipment?

The auto transport industry is rife with fraud, unlicensed brokers, and scam operations. When you buy from Frankman Motor Company, you're not navigating that world alone — you have decades of expertise on your side.

35+ Years of Shipping Experience

We've been arranging nationwide vehicle transport since 1988. We've shipped thousands of vehicles across all 48 lower states — from classic Corvettes to family SUVs. That experience means we know which carriers are trustworthy and which to avoid.

Personally Managed by Dustin Frankman

Every single shipment is personally coordinated by Dustin Frankman. This isn't outsourced to a call center or a third-party broker. A member of the Frankman family handles your transport because we understand how important it is to get this right.

Licensed, Bonded & Insured Carriers Only

We partner exclusively with carriers through Central Dispatch and our vetted network. Every transporter must be licensed, bonded, and insured with valid USDOT and MC numbers. If a carrier doesn't meet our standards, we reject them — no exceptions.

Classic & High-Value Vehicle Specialists

We regularly ship classic, collector, and high-value vehicles across the country. We know which enclosed carriers specialize in vintage vehicles and which routes require extra precautions. Your 1967 Mustang gets the same care as if it were ours.

If we even sniff a transporter that doesn't seem legit, we turn them away and rebook. Your vehicle is too important.

The Dangers of Arranging Vehicle Transport on Your Own

The vehicle shipping industry has a serious fraud problem. Every year, thousands of consumers fall victim to scams, stolen vehicles, and unlicensed operators. Here's what you're up against if you try to arrange transport independently:

Phantom / Ghost Companies — Scammers create professional-looking websites with fake reviews, stolen USDOT numbers, and phony customer support. They collect deposits and vanish. Phone numbers disconnect, websites disappear.
Double Brokering — Your shipment gets passed to an unknown, unvetted carrier without your knowledge. The FMCSA considers this fraud. It leaves vehicles vulnerable to theft and damage with no accountability.
Vehicle Theft — Fake carriers pose as legitimate transporters to steal vehicles outright. They pick up the vehicle and never deliver it. By the time you realize something's wrong, the vehicle and the "company" are gone.
Bait-and-Switch Pricing — A carrier gives you an unrealistically low quote. Once your vehicle is loaded on the truck, they demand hundreds or thousands more in "unexpected fees" — and they're holding your car hostage.
Unlicensed Brokers — They collect large deposits for "reservations" but never assign your vehicle to a carrier. They demand payment through Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App — untraceable methods with no consumer protection.
Identity Theft — Fraudulent brokers collect your name, address, banking details, and even Social Security numbers under the guise of booking a shipment, then sell your data to criminal networks.

When you buy from Frankman Motor Company, you don't face any of these risks. Our decades of experience and personal oversight by Dustin Frankman mean every carrier is vetted, every shipment is tracked, and every vehicle arrives safely.

Local Delivery within the Sioux Falls Area

If your delivery is within 50 miles of our Sioux Falls dealership, a Frankman Motor Company team member may deliver the vehicle personally. In that case, the vehicle is considered delivered once you receive the keys — no third-party transporter is involved. For all other deliveries, our standard FOB shipping process applies.

Frequently Asked Questions About Vehicle Shipping

Yes. Frankman Motor Company ships vehicles to all 48 contiguous United States. We have been coordinating nationwide vehicle transport since 1988 and have shipped thousands of vehicles across the country — from classic cars to modern trucks and SUVs. Every shipment is personally managed by Dustin Frankman.
Shipping costs vary based on distance, vehicle size, transport type (open vs. enclosed), delivery speed, and seasonal demand. We provide a transparent estimated cost upfront before you commit. There are no hidden fees. Each case is unique, and we work with our trusted transport partners to get you an accurate quote.
FOB stands for Free On Board. It means the vehicle is considered officially delivered the moment Frankman Motor Company hands the keys to the transport driver. At that point, Frankman Motor Company's insurance on the vehicle ends and ownership transfers to the buyer. The transport driver is not an agent of Frankman Motor Company. This is why it is critical that you activate your personal auto insurance on the vehicle before the transporter picks it up.
Yes — this is critical. Because Frankman Motor Company delivers all vehicles FOB, our insurance coverage on your vehicle ends the moment the keys are handed to the transport carrier. You must have your own auto insurance policy active on the vehicle before the transporter arrives to pick it up. Contact your insurance agent and add the vehicle to your policy before transport begins.
Arrangement typically takes about one business week. Once a carrier is assigned, delivery generally takes an additional business week, though proximity to major routes can reduce this time. Expedited transport is available for an additional cost. We always prioritize safety over speed — we will not rush a shipment if it means using an untrusted carrier.
Open transport is the standard and most affordable option. Your vehicle is loaded onto an open multi-car carrier — the same type used to deliver new cars to dealerships. Enclosed transport provides full protection from weather, road debris, and visibility, and is recommended for classic, collector, luxury, or high-value vehicles. Enclosed transport costs more but offers maximum protection.
Dustin Frankman personally coordinates every vehicle shipment. This is not outsourced to a third-party broker or call center. Dustin works directly with licensed, bonded, and insured carriers through Central Dispatch and our trusted network. If a transporter doesn't meet our safety standards, the shipment is rejected and rebooked with a vetted carrier.
Frankman Motor Company only works with licensed, bonded, and insured carriers verified through Central Dispatch and our vetted carrier network. Every carrier must have valid USDOT and MC numbers. We never use unverified brokers, and we never accept carriers that raise any red flags. With over 35 years of shipping experience, we know which carriers are legitimate and which to avoid. If we have any doubt about a transporter's legitimacy, we reject them and rebook.
Yes. We regularly ship classic, collector, and high-value vehicles nationwide using enclosed transport carriers that specialize in vintage and rare automobiles. Whether it's a 1967 Ford Mustang, a Chevrolet Corvette, or a Porsche 911, we know which carriers handle classic vehicles with the care they deserve.
